Policy 01
Terms of Service
These terms govern your use of marrket, a WhatsApp-based grocery ordering and delivery service operated by Klosset ("marrket", "we", "us"). By sending us an order on WhatsApp or using our website, you agree to these terms.
1
Who we are
marrket is a grocery ordering and delivery service run by Klosset, based in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, Nigeria. We buy fresh produce and everyday market goods on your behalf and deliver them to your door within the areas we cover.
2
Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old and able to enter into a binding contract to use marrket. You are responsible for the WhatsApp number you order from and for keeping it secure. Orders placed from your number are treated as placed by you.
3
How ordering works
You send your shopping list to us on WhatsApp as text or a photo. We reply with an itemised basket showing that morning's market prices and a delivery fee. Your order is only confirmed once you approve the basket and complete payment. Until then, nothing is charged and either side may decline the order.
4
Prices & availability
Fresh produce prices change daily and depend on market supply. The prices in your confirmed basket are the prices you pay for that order. If an item is unavailable or its price has moved significantly after you approve, we will contact you before proceeding and offer a substitution, a price update, or removal of the item.
5
Payment
You pay once, in full, via the secure link we send — by bank transfer, card or USSD. Payments are processed by a licensed third-party payment provider; we do not store your full card details. We begin shopping and dispatch a rider only after your payment is confirmed.
6
Delivery
We aim to deliver within 90 minutes inside our active coverage areas. Delivery times are estimates and may be affected by weather, traffic or demand. Full delivery terms are set out in our Delivery Policy.
7
Cancellations & refunds
You may cancel before we begin shopping. Because we buy perishable goods fresh for each order, cancellation options are limited once shopping has started. How this works, and how refunds for missing, wrong or poor-quality items are handled, is set out in full in our Refund & Cancellation Policy.
8
Your responsibilities
You agree to give accurate order details and a reachable delivery address, to be available (or nominate someone) to receive your order, and to treat our team and riders with respect. You must not use marrket for anything unlawful, or resell goods obtained through us without our written consent.
9
Our liability
We take care to deliver fresh, correctly-weighed goods, but to the extent permitted by law our liability for any order is limited to the value of that order. We are not liable for delays or failures caused by events outside our reasonable control. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited under Nigerian law.
10
Changes & governing law
We may update these terms from time to time; the current version always lives on this page with its effective date. These terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, and any dispute will be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of Rivers State. We would much rather sort things out with you directly first — just message us.
Policy 02
Privacy Policy
This policy explains what personal information marrket (operated by Klosset) collects, why, and your rights over it. We handle your data in line with the Nigeria Data Protection Act, 2023 (NDPA).
1
What we collect
We collect your WhatsApp phone number and name, the messages and photos you send to place an order, your delivery address and any access notes, your order history, and confirmation of payment from our payment provider. We do not collect or store your full card or bank details.
2
How we use it
We use your information to build and confirm your basket, take payment, dispatch a rider, deliver your order, handle refunds and complaints, and — where you've asked us to — message you when we open your area. We may use anonymised, aggregated order data to improve pricing and coverage.
3
Legal basis
We process your data to perform our contract with you (fulfilling your order), to meet legal obligations, for our legitimate interest in running and improving the service, and — for marketing messages — on the basis of your consent, which you can withdraw at any time.
4
Who we share with
We share only what's needed with: our delivery riders (your name, address and order), our licensed payment provider (to take payment), and WhatsApp / Meta (which carries your messages, under its own terms). We never sell your personal data. We may disclose data where required by law.
5
Messaging on WhatsApp
Because we operate over WhatsApp, your conversations with us are also handled by WhatsApp/Meta and subject to their privacy terms. We only message you about your orders and, with your consent, area launches. You can tell us to stop marketing messages at any time by replying "STOP".
6
Data retention & security
We keep order and contact records only as long as needed to run the service and meet legal and tax obligations, then delete or anonymise them. We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your data, and limit access to staff who need it to serve you.
7
Your rights
Under the NDPA you can ask to access, correct, or delete your personal data, object to certain processing, and withdraw consent. To exercise any of these, message us on WhatsApp or email the address below. If you're unhappy with our response, you may complain to the Nigeria Data Protection Commission (NDPC).
8
The website & children
Our website uses only essential cookies needed for it to function. marrket is intended for adults; we do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has shared data with us, contact us and we'll delete it.
9
Contact
For any privacy request or question, reach us on WhatsApp or at hi@marrket.africa. We'll respond within a reasonable time and always within the periods required by law.
Policy 03
Refund & Cancellation Policy
We buy perishable produce fresh for every order, so this policy balances that reality with a genuine promise: if something isn't right, we'll make it right.
1
Our fresh-produce promise
Everything is bought the same morning it's delivered, weighed and priced at that day's market rate. If any item arrives spoiled, under-weight, or clearly not what you ordered, we'll refund or replace it — no long back-and-forth.
2
Cancelling before we shop
You can cancel any order for a full refund at any time before we start shopping — just message us. If you've already paid and we haven't begun, you get 100% back, including the delivery fee.
3
Cancelling after we've started
Once we've bought your perishable items we usually can't return them, so those items are non-refundable if you cancel mid-shop. Any items we hadn't yet bought are fully refunded. If the rider is already on the way, the delivery fee also applies.
4
Missing, wrong or damaged items
Please check your order at handover and tell us about any problem within 2 hours of delivery, with a photo where possible. For anything missing, incorrect, spoiled or damaged, we'll refund that item or arrange a replacement on your next delivery — your choice.
5
Substitutions
If something on your list isn't available, we'll message you before buying an alternative. We never swap items without asking. If we can't reach you and the item is essential, we'll leave it out and refund it rather than guess.
6
How & when refunds are paid
Refunds go back to the same method you paid with, or to a bank account you provide. Most refunds are initiated within 24 hours of us agreeing them and typically arrive within 3–7 business days, depending on your bank and payment provider.
7
Raising a complaint
Just reply in the same WhatsApp chat as your order, or email care@marrket.africa. Keeping it in the order thread helps us find your basket and sort it fastest.
Policy 04
Delivery Policy
We go deep in one area at a time so a rider is always close by. Here's how, when and where delivery works.
1
Where we deliver
We launch constituency by constituency, starting in Port Harcourt — Trans Amadi is live, with Woji and GRA opening next. The current live areas are always shown on our coverage board. If you're just outside, message us and we'll tell you the moment we reach you.
2
Delivery times
Inside our live areas we aim to deliver within 90 minutes of your payment clearing. This is a target, not a guarantee: heavy rain, traffic, or unusually large orders can add time. If your order will be delayed, we'll let you know in the chat.
3
Delivery fees & hours
Your delivery fee depends on your distance from the market and is always shown in your basket before you pay — no surprises at the door. We deliver during daytime hours; orders placed late may be scheduled for the next morning, and we'll confirm the timing with you.
4
Receiving your order
Please be reachable on the number you ordered from so the rider can find you. You may nominate someone else to receive on your behalf — just let us know. We recommend checking your items at handover so we can resolve anything on the spot.
5
If we can't reach you
If the rider arrives and can't reach you after reasonable attempts, they'll wait a short while, then move on to keep other deliveries on time. We'll message you to rearrange. For perishable goods, a redelivery may attract an additional delivery fee.
